Questions are unhelpful simply because they invite reaction
rather than action. Conspiracy theory inevitably results in a circle-thewagons
mentality, while speculating about how ISIS-related events
fulfill Bible prophecy leads millions of Christians to do nothing more
than look upward and wait.
We live in a time when asking what Washington is going to do
about this or that issue has become almost reflexive. Compounding
our inaction is the fact that politicians, regulators and bureaucrats
now ask themselves the same question, because they too have come
to assume that it is not only their responsibility but their right to
manage our lives. And for a host of reasons, that philosophy isn’t
working.
